The Central Mississippi Red Cross' HIV/AIDS Teacher Student Peer Education Program, designed for the Mississippi school system, was designed to help teachers become more effective at disseminating culturally specific and relevant HIV/AIDS prevention messages, while also teaching them the fundamentals of behavior, thus making teachers and or other school officials better equipped to facilitate messages that are more likely to effect change in behavior.
This is HIV/AIDS prevention education is for Hinds, Harrison, Washington, Jackson, Rankin, Sunflower, and Lauderdale counties school systems. Under the program a 1or 2 day Teacher HIV/AIDS Education/Prevention Program is facilitated. When the individuals is completed with the training they will have completed the Red Cross' Starter Facts and Fact Practice Course, and as a resulted they will become certified MDE HIV/AIDS educators.
