How do I become a Health & Safety
Instructor?
After passing the basic level course, individuals may sign up for Instructor
Training. Whether you would like to volunteer at the Red Cross, in your
community, or your business has recognized the benefits of having an in-house
Instructor to train its employees, becoming an Instructor qualified to share
these life-saving skills with others is a rewarding experience.
The First Aid/CPR/AED Program Instructor's course is the Instructor training
program to start with in most cases. This program was designed for business. It
is broken into a modular format so that businesses offer the segments that they
need ---custom-fitting the training. All segments were geared to meet or exceed
OSHA requirements for training, and businesses love our materials. With
easy-to-use skill cards to guide the participant, excellent DVD presentations,
and quality instructorship - we have a recipe for success.
Candidates are tested on their skills on the morning of
the first day. After demonstrating good technique, participants are then
exposed to teaching strategies that allow them to reach their potential
students.
Successful completion of this 2-day training authorizes
Instructors to certify others in the lay-person techniques for Adult, Child,
Infant CPR, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillation as well as six
brief, versatile injury-prevention seminars and other optional modules on
assistance with epinephrine injections and asthma emergency response. These
modules, perfect for presentation at routine safety meetings, are designed to
stop injuries from occurring - saving money, time, and, potentially, lives or
meeting the needs of specific health care emergencies.
