Gail Pittman
Gives Back
...Helping Those
Who Help Others
August 29th
marks three years
since Louisiana
and Mississippi
were devastated
by Hurricane
Katrina. Gail
Pittman has
created
signature items
with 100% of the
profits donated
to The American
Red Cross to
continue in
their effort to
help those in
need.
Gail says, “God
has blessed me
with the gift of
design and
color…I want to
use it to help
my fellow
Mississippians
in their time of
need. The colors
in these pieces
represent the
tapestry of
lives and
businesses that
have been
adversely
affected by
Hurricane
Katrina. The red
represents the
Red Cross and
the Salvation
Army who have
brought hope to
so many over the
past several
days. The name
of this pattern
is ‘Hope and
Future’. This
name comes from
Jeremiah 29:11
which reads,
“For I know the
plans I have for
you, “ declares
the Lord, “
plans to prosper
you and not to
harm you, plans
to give you a
hope and a
future.” The
bowl will sell
for $100 and the
tray for $50
with 100% of the
profits donated
to the American
Red Cross and
the Salvation
Army. I also
hope to show
with these
pieces that
Mississippi is
‘open for
business’, and
we will need the
prayers and
support of all
in our nation to
help us in this
most difficult
time. In 1979 we
lost all our
worldly
possessions in a
flood. The
American Red
Cross was among
the first ones
to respond…and
they were there
again in 1983
when what was
considered a one
hundred year
flood plain
flooded once
again. They fed
us, brought us
much needed
assistance and
so much more…but
most
importantly,
they were there
as an anchor in
an otherwise
senseless time
when we were
incapable of
making
decisions…I have
always felt it
my
responsibility
to give back to
this worthy
organization in
whatever way I
can…God gives us
all gifts and
talents so that
we may use them
to help our
fellow man.”
