Who
: American Red Cross and Sonic are partnering to benefit those in the area who need life saving services provided by the Central Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross.

What: Sonic is offering Community First Value cards for $5.00. The American Red Cross/Sonic Community First Value card amounts to a $17.00 savings on great food items from Sonic stores. The Red Cross receives a donation of $5.00 for each card that is sold.

When: The Campaign runs three months beginning May 1st.

Where: Community cards can be purchased at most Sonic Drive-Ins throughout metro Jackson and are good for use nationwide.  The community should also look for additional promotions of this campaign by local organizations that will also sell the cards.

Click here to visit the American Red Cross Safe and Well Website. If you have been affected by a disaster, this website provides a way for you to register yourself as “safe and well.” From a list of standard messages, you can select those that you want to communicate to your family members, letting them know of your well-being.

Concerned family and friends can search the list of those who have registered themselves as “safe and well.” The results of a successful search will display a loved one’s First Name, Last Name, an “As of Date”, and the “safe and well” messages selected.

Every day, the American Red Cross helps people in emergencies . . . whether it's half a million disaster victims or one sick child who needs blood.

Our vital work is made possible by people who know how good it can feel to lend a helping hand. Red Cross "everyday heroes" come from all walks of life. Everyone has something special to offer . . . including you.

Last year more than one million Americans helped their communities prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies as Red Cross volunteers. And the demand for vital American Red Cross services and the committed volunteers to deliver them continues to grow.

You can help your community be prepared. To find out about volunteering for Central Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross, contact us at (601) 353-5442.
